The Milkmaid and her Daydreams

Watch the 2D animated short film "The Milkmaid and her Daydreams"

Story

A milkmaid was going to the market carrying a pail of milk on her head. As she went along she began thinking about what she would do with the money she would get for the milk.

"I'll buy some hens from a neighbour," said she, "and they will lay eggs each morning, which I will sell to the pastor's wife. With the money that I get from the sale of these eggs I'll buy myself a new dress. When I go to fair, all the young men will come up and speak to me!...... I shall toss my head like this". As she spoke she tossed her head back, the Pail fell off it, and all the milk was spilt.

The Ant and the Dove

The Ant and the Dove

One hot day, an ant was searching for some water. After walking around for some time, he found a spring.

He climbed down the bank of the stream to sip the cool water but he lost control and fell into the rushing stream.

A dove up a nearby tree saw the ant drowning.Seeing that the ant was in trouble, the dove quickly plucked off a leaf and dropped it into the water near the struggling ant.

The ant moved towards the leaf and climbed up there. Soon it carried her safely to dry ground.

The ant thanked the dove.

A few days later , the ant was relaxing.

The ant heard loud footsteps and saw a hunter with a gun. The hunter was aiming at the dove.

The ant quickly ran towards the hunter.

The hunter was just about to shoot the dove.

The ant bit the hunter's foot with all his strength and the gun dropped from his hand.

The dove heard the noise and she flew away from that spot. She landed near the ant and thanked him for saving his life. The ant and the dove became friends forever.

Moral: A friend in need is a friend indeed.

model sheets-2 (Who will bell the cat ?)

Who will Bell the Cat ?

Below is the character expression chart that I used for making my 2D animation short film. I have included 6 expressions of the same cat.

A 4 step walk cycle is enough for making a walk animation for any 4-legged character. The following chart can be used to make walking animation for any 4-legged animal. Draw the poses in consecutive keyframes and play in a loop.

Model sheets (Who will bell the cat?)

Model Sheets

Its quite difficult to draw different poses of the same character. It took a lot of time to draw the poses and expressions for my cat (below) which I used in my cartoon film "Who will bell the cat?"

I am sharing the model sheets here and I hope these can help animation students in their projects where they can use them as a reference materials....

Head Turn

This one (above) is a frame by frame animation for head turn. Place each head on top of one another in different frames (as numbered) and play in a loop.
