The Blue Jackal

The Blue Jackal

Once upon a time there lived a cunning jackal in the forest.

One day, driven by hunger, he came to a nearby village in search of food. Seeing him, a group of dogs began barking and started chasing him. 

The jackal fled in panic and dashed into a tub of blue dye that was kept outside a dyer's house. When he came out, he became blue in colour. Thinking that he was not the jackal they chased, the dogs dispersed.

When he returned to the forest, all the other animals ran in fright when they saw him.

The blue jackal told them that he was sent by the Gods to rule the forest and if they did not obey him, the Gods will punish them.

All the animals accepted him as their king. They built a stage for him and brought food for him everyday.

One day a group of jackals were passing by the forest. They lifted their heads and howled.

The blue jackal could not restrain himself and started howling too.

When the other animals saw him howling, they looked at him angrily and started growling.

The blue jackal fled from there and thus his reign ended.

The Fox and the Stork

The Cunning Fox and the Clever Stork

Once upon a time, there lived a very cunning fox who always wanted to cheat and deceive others with its awful and stupid acts. 

One day he befriended a stork and gained her trust. Fox : "Come to my house tomorrow, I will make lunch and we will eat together." Stork: "That sounds good, I will surely come"

The Stork remained hungry right from the morning. She was saving space in her stomach for the delicious lunch proposed by the fox. 

When she reached the fox's house, the fox offered a delicious soup in a shallow bowl. The stork was stunned. She could not drink with her long bill, while the fox easily licked the soup from his plate.

The stork clearly understood that the fox had cheated her and decided to teach the silly fox a lesson.

The stork invited the fox to her house for lunch. When the fox reached the stork's house, she offered a delicious soup in a narrow jar with a long neck. The stork easily drank the soup with her long bill but the fox couldn't drink a bit. The fox understood that he was paid for his mischief.

Moral of the story: "One bad turn deserves another."

The Ant and the Dove

The Ant and the Dove

One hot day, an ant was searching for some water. After walking around for some time, he found a spring.

He climbed down the bank of the stream to sip the cool water but he lost control and fell into the rushing stream.

A dove up a nearby tree saw the ant drowning.Seeing that the ant was in trouble, the dove quickly plucked off a leaf and dropped it into the water near the struggling ant. 

The ant moved towards the leaf and climbed up there. Soon it carried her safely to dry ground.

The ant thanked the dove.

A few days later , the ant was relaxing.

The ant heard loud footsteps and saw a hunter with a gun. The hunter was aiming at the dove.

The ant quickly ran towards the hunter.

The hunter was just about to shoot the dove.

The ant bit the hunter's foot with all his strength and the gun dropped from his hand.

The dove heard the noise and she flew away from that spot. She landed near the ant and thanked him for saving his life. The ant and the dove became friends forever.

Moral: A friend in need is a friend indeed.
